Dinoframe mission

The goal of Dinoframe is to create a modern learning experience for mainframes and IBM i. We strive to create tutorials for learners of all levels. Our tutorials provide useful information, contain examples, and link to 3rd party resources that can provide further support that we can’t.

  • Tutorials repository made with IBM Z and IBM i in mind, this includes syntax highlight for languages like COBOL

  • Articles repository

  • Podcasts section that allows users to discover new podcasts

  • Dictionary page & T-Rex Translator Discord bot that allows users to look up terms and acronyms

  • Storage calculator that allows users to convert cylinders and tracks to bytes

History

Dinoframe was launched on August 7th 2024 at RE:IPL in Kansas City. Dinoframe began in June 2023 as a project by Emma Skovgård, to make the mainframe learning experience easier and more modern.
